How to FIX ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

Google Chrome is one of the most popular and trusted browsers by most Internet users, however, sometimes you may see SSL error “This site can’t provide a secure connection – ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR” while surfing online. Refreshing the page (F5 button) may solve the issue, but in some cases you may need to do more steps to fix the problem.

  Solution 1: Check date and time are proper
  
  Your Chrome browser may show ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR error in case the date and time are wrong on your computer or mobile device. Please recheck and adjust it on your via PC settings.

  Solution 2: Clear Browsing Data
  
  The problematic SSL error may appear again and again due to stoted Browsing date and you may have to clean it to fix the issue.
  1. Open your Chrome browser;
  2. Press combination of three buttons "CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE";
  3. Make sure "All Time" range is set;
  4. Set "Cookies and other site data";
  5. Set "Cached images and files";

  - For Chrome browser the process is similar, click "Three dots" button on the top right side of the browser, find the "Settings". There you will find "Advanced settings" at the bottom of a page. Now find "Open Proxy Settings" and there you will see the "Content" tab with "Clear SSL state"

  Solution 4: Disable QUIC Protocol of Chrome
  
  No luck, if you still reading the guide. Let's try changing Chrome browser settings by disabling the QUIC Protocol.
  1. lick to your browser's address bar and type/paste chrome://flags/#enable-quic and hit Enter;
  2. You'll see the "Default" state for Under the Experimental QUIC Protocol. Change to "Disabled";
  3. Restart the browser and retry visiting the site.

  Solution 6: Checking your Firewall/Antivirus
  
  We suggest checking Firewall and Antivirus settings and LOG files to be sure they are not blocking the website you are trying to visit. Review the blocking reason carefully, if you found a block, as probably they are trying to secure you from a malicious website. We do not suggest switching off Antivirus.

  Step 7: Review Privacy Level and Internet Security
  
  The last idea we have is adjusting the Internet Security and privacy level. Try to decrease the level to prevent blocking access to certain websites. Here are the steps to follow:
  1. Open Control Panel and find "Internet Options" OR Click to Start/Windows logo on the left bottom side and type there "Internet Options" in search;
  2. You will get a new window where you have to click to the "Security" tab;
  3. Now try to lower the slider to "Medium Level" if it has a higher scale. Now, restart the browser and try open your website again.
