The max period for SSL is 3-year
Starting on 1st March 2018 there will be no more 3-years SSL certificates according to CA/B forum decision. The max period will be 27-months during renewal. The changes affect all global CA (vendors). However, the changes do not affect Code Signing or S/MIME certificates.
02.04.2019 (Updated). Today we see some websites still offers 4 and even 6 years SSL certificates including EV certificates, that are tricky deals, in fact, you purchase 2-3 SSL certificates with renewal process every 27 months. The renewal process includes full re-validation and reinstallation of SSL certificate to your server. That is done to stop customers switching within providers, you are stick for 4-6 years with a provider even if the quality of services is low.
